FAQ’s – Personal Credit Repair

Why is good credit so important?

Your credit score is basically the way that lenders, landlords, and even employers determine how trustworthy and responsible you are with your money.  A credit report that is filled with bad marks and delinquencies shows lenders and other decision makers that you won’t be able to hold up your end of the deal.  This means you can end up paying higher interest rates on any loans that you have, and it also can mean that you can get rejected for jobs and apartment rentals.  Bad credit can cost you thousands of dollars in extra interest and fees, and it can even make starting your own business impossible in some cases.  Good credit is crucial in today’s society!

What items can be removed?

A better question would most likely be “what items cannot be removed”.  We can remove the following negative items:

  • Inquiries
  • Late Payments
  • Charge Offs
  • Collections
  • Tax Liens
  • Judgments
  • Closed Accounts
  • Bankruptcies
  • Foreclosures
  • Repossessions
  • Student Loans
  • Negative Settlements
  • Removal of “In Dispute”

Is there any chance that removals can fail?

Yes, sadly, there is.  In some cases, bad marks cannot be removed because they have been deemed accurate and are backed by evidence.  We can try to get them removed multiple times, though, and sometimes that can work.

Is this legal?

Yes.  The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) allows us to do this on your behalf.

Can I consult with someone at your office before I decide to sign-up?

Absolutely!  We encourage you to call or email one of our professional credit analysts for a FREE CONSULTATION and ask any questions that may help you in determining the best solution for your credit needs.  Call (678) 983-4555 or email info@thecreditexpress.org.

Can’t I do it myself?

You can, but there’s no saying that you’ll be as successful as we are at removing marks.  It’s also a pretty tedious process, so you might as well save yourself the time and headache by outsourcing it to us.  Our experience in working with the credit bureaus facilitates the credit repair process because we are more likely to anticipate the tactics and responses of the credit bureaus.  Members of our professional team have experience in interacting with the bureaus and creditors and have gained insight in regards to efficiently and effectively disputing credit report errors.  We stay current on consumer credit laws and economic issues, and we utilize the newest technology and proven techniques to ensure successful removal of credit report information for our clients.

Do you provide my credit report?

When you become a client, we request that you submit your Equifax, Experian and Trans Union credit reports to us.  We do not provide your reports to you because the process of obtaining your report would result in an inquiry being placed on your reports.  Each inquiry negatively affects your score.  Our goal is to help you raise your score, not lower it.  If you obtain your report yourself and submit it to us, no negative inquiry will appear.  Several competitors will pull your reports for you.  However, they pull reports usually through affiliated third party companies, causing you an inquiry.  While this sounds convenient, just remember that they are actually hurting your score in the process.

How much do you charge for your services?

We charge $69 monthly for a comprehensive initial credit audit which includes the following services: (1) Assist client in obtaining their credit reports from all three credit reporting agencies – Equifax, Experian and Trans Union; (2) Comprehensive review and analysis of client’s credit bureau reports; (3) Comprehensive review and analysis of client’s collection letters and recorded voicemails, if any; (4) 1 hour telephone consultation with client; (5) Preparation of analysis with strategy for resolution of negative items being reported on client’s credit bureau reports; (6) Add all telephone numbers to “Do Not Call List”; (7) Set up clients with their online private client site which will allow client to check progress of their account; (8) Provide client with credit education materials to the online private client site periodically for client review; (9) Follow up 30 minute telephone consultation; and (10) Assist client with adding up to 10 healthy new items to their credit reports.  Upon completion of the comprehensive initial credit audit, we dispute inaccurate negative items with the three credit bureaus. There will be an ongoing fee of $69 per month to handle all credit repair services. We are so confident in our work that we offer a full refund plus $1,000.00 if a client’s credit score does not improve after a 3rd dispute has been filed.  We also offer an absolutely no questions asked cancellation policy.

What if I want to cancel?

In the event that you decide to cancel with our company, you would simply send us a no questions asked Notice of Cancellation.  You can cancel for absolutely any reason that you would like.  Upon receiving a cancellation notice from you, we will process your cancellation request within 24 hours and there will be no future billing.

Is it possible that you delete an item from my credit report but it reappears?

Yes, this is possible, however, this is very unlikely.  In the event that an item that we have deleted reappears onto your credit bureau reports, we will work on removing the item at no cost for life.  Therefore, whether the item reappears onto your report in 2 years or 30 years, we will work on removing the item once again.

How does your money back guarantee work?

There is no fine print and it’s very simple – we will give you $1,000.00 plus a full refund if we are unable to improve your credit score within 6 months.  We are so confident in our work that we offer this guarantee.  We only ask that you do not add any new negative information to your credit reports from the date that we begin working on your file.  We’ve never had to pay this to anyone – but our clients are happy to know that we take our work seriously and that this guarantee is available to them.

How long does it take to repair my credit?

Each situation is unique and so is the timeframe required to repair your credit.  The majority of our customers see results within the first 30 – 45 days.  However, we work on your credit for a full 6 months to ensure that you receive the best results possible.  Our goal is to improve both your credit report and credit score at the end of the 6 month timeframe.  That said, keep in mind that no company can promise any specific outcome simply because there are several third parties involved (e.g. Equifax, Transunion, Experian, your creditors, etc.) and no one can predict how they will respond.  It just really depends on many factors.

How much can I expect my score to go up?

It honestly all depends.  There are no 2 credit reports that are exactly the same.  This means that improvements we make on one person’s credit may or may not improve the score as much as another’s.  The “average”, we’ve found, never applies.  Scores can go up 200+ points, while others just need a 60 point boost to qualify for their home loan.

Is there a discount for couples?

Yes.  We offer a 10% discount when you sign up together with a spouse.  You do not need to sign up at the same time.  You can start the sign up process as soon as you are ready and your spouse can join at a later point – the 10% discount will be applied to their account.

How do I become a client?

Becoming a client is very simple.  You will simply need to complete a Registration Form and submit it with a payment.  Once we receive this from you, you will receive a welcome email and telephone call from our office and we will start working on your file within 24 hours.

How will I know it works?

Easy!  Every time you receive updated credit reports, you will see items that have been changed, updated, or removed.  If an item is changed or updated, it generally means that a positive improvement with that account (such as a late history) has been made.  If an account was removed all together from your credit report, it means that a negative item has been removed from your credit report.  Usually these items are collections, charge offs, foreclosures, etc.  We’ll also point out important progress made within your client account which you’ll have online access to.

How long does it take after I sign up to receive my first updated credit reports in the mail?

You should receive your reports from the credit reporting agencies within 45 days of becoming a client.  You will then receive updated credit reports every 45 days thereafter.

Does paying off my bills repair my credit?

Unfortunately, the credit reporting system just doesn’t work that way.  When you pay your debt, the negative credit listing doesn’t disappear.  There is little difference between a paid negative item on your credit report, or an unpaid one.  After you’ve defaulted on your accounts, your creditors and the collection agencies will routinely tell you to pay off your accounts and that paying off the accounts will be good for your credit reports.  What they don’t tell you is that by making the payments, your account will still show the late payments and charge off status on your credit reports.  We cannot advise you not to pay your bills, however, you need to understand that paying off a negative item will still be considered a negative item.

Can you help me establish new credit?

Establishing new credit and building a great credit history may sound simple but in essence, it needs to be done the right way.  You can’t just go out and start applying for tons of credit cards with the hope that a few will approve you.  You will end up hurting your credit score due to numerous inquiries and chances are, if your credit is not good, you will end up getting denied for credit.  The companies that deny you will then be listed as inquiries on your credit reports and when you apply for new credit with other companies, they will see that numerous other companies have denied your application.  Doesn’t look good right?  We know lenders that will approve you with poor credit.  We will provide you with a list of 10 credit cards – all of which will approve your applications so that you can establish new credit accounts in your name.  Clients that obtain such accounts and make consecutive payments for 12+ months see an increase in their credit score and the ability of obtaining additional credit approvals.

Can you help me establish business credit?

Yes.  We also offer a business credit builder program which enables businesses, upon completion of the program, to secure up to $100,000 in business funding without using a social security number or a personal guarantee.  This program includes the following features:
